Welcome back to my sketchbook.

It's the end of the year closet cleaning, so here I am sharing some of my older pieces that are special to me, hoping that you find as much joy in them as I do. When I am not drawing for anyone but myself, I often like to draw from observation and nothing makes for a more pristine subject of study than the human body.

The series I'm sharing here originates from my live gesture drawing classes.

Gesture drawing is a way of sketching with live subjects where the objective is to capture the essence, energy and movement of the subject. The emphasis is not so much on the details but on the dynamism, making sure you're generous with your pencil and don't overthink the process.

It's also my favorite thing to do.
